What I've got so far is a Form/Subform and a query based on the two (linked by the Account ID criteria) with an added column to display the MAX date on the Date Recd field on the subform. This allows me to place a text box on the main form displaying the last date in the list of payments per person, and it does work...
Each subform has an unbound text box with the control source =Count([Sub_ID]).
When the main form opens the count text boxes are correct, but if I add a record to the subform the count does not update.
So the question is, how do i make it update "live" without having to click on the textbox with the mouse/curser?
Echo True Next That actually did work, but then the text is "highlighted", you know, as if i wanted to rightclick-copy or something...
I have a form with a textbox that needs to be updated in a for loop. Refresh Do Events Next The textbox controlsource is the str Status (Through a function). I'm not sure what the root cause of it failing to update the text box is, but adding in one line fixed this issue for me.
I have reduced the script to the following: For counter = 1 To 100 Application. Every loop takes about 4 seconds (The query), so it is not because its over in 2 ms. The strange thing is, if i use the curser and manually click on the text box while the loop is running, it actually works......... Setting focus to the textbox that you are updating (which is what you are doing when you click on it), causes it to update. So my question boils down to, how can I tell what happens when the form closes? In a nutshell; a form will save directly to a table if that table is selected as the record source for the form.If this isn't enough info, please let me know what you need. By doing so allows for the controls (textbox, combobox, etc) to be linked to the fields in the table.Let me say that's a fallback option but I very much doubt you'll need it. I've been experimenting with this but requesting the requery from the subform does not seem to work.I created a command button on my main form which had vba to requery the subform control and that manually updates the count, but obviously I would like it to be automate when the subform updates/inserts.For instance; if you are using as your table, then it should be visible in the Record Source. Chances are good because this once worked, that the form fields will relink themselves.
