But it's great, I'm seeing a different side to myself.I've now done virtually everything there is to do in TV presenting; I've done sport shows, comedy shows and I'm now doing music, which is great for me.On the other programme that I present, TMi, I've dressed up like a bear, done an angry dance and asked people what their favourite ice cream is.
In his early career, Francis did a series of shorts for Paramount Comedy called Stars in Their Houses. His major television breakthrough occurred when Channel 4 offered him a £250,000 deal to produce a series based on his television characters, such as his previous roles as Bobby Stark and Barry Gibson, and in 2002, Bo' Selecta! The series featured Francis portraying a series of celebrities by wearing face masks to impersonate them, as well as portraying the main, non-celebrity character, Avid Merrion.
Until now, there was one face that Leigh Francis refused to present to the world - his own.
Mc Call landed Francis his first television role on Dom and Kirk's Nite O' Plenty, where he portrayed Bobby Stark, a man who gives tips on how to win over the ladies.
The series aired on Paramount Television from January to July 1996.
Firstly we should put it out there that Keith Lemon is a character, not a real person. Leigh admitted that the character of Keith Lemon is loosely based on a friend, whose name is also Keith Lemon…
The character’s first appearance was in 2000 during a show called Whatever I Want.
His fake tan, bleached hair have all added to speculation about the character’s sexuality.
Leigh Francis is 42 years old – born on 30th April 1973.
He later studied at the Leeds College of Art and received a qualification in graphic design.
Before making his major television breakthrough, he was discovered and encouraged by television presenter Davina Mc Call, performing in-role stand-up comedy in a southern comedy club.
In the past he has said he hates the fake moustache that he has to wear whilst in character and removes it as soon as filming is finishes but it seems since making those comments he has grown his own.
